Brean Down Way Cycle Hire & Route
After 20 years of planning, the long-awaited eight-mile path from Weston-super-Mare to Brean Down officially opened in July 2017. The new path provides a walking and cycling route between Weston-super-Mare and Brean Down via the Brean Cross Sluices over the River Axe and the perfect place to hire bikes in Brean and explore with all of the family.
What is it?
The route is mostly away from busy roads and connects the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare with Brean Down.

On the route you find something for everyone such as Brean Sands & dunes, Walborough Nature Reserve, Uphil Marina & Cafe, Brean Down Fort and the Grand Pier in Weston-Super-Mare as well as many more.
How long does it take?
Cycling from the National Trust coffee shop in Brean Down to the Grand Pier in Weston is estimated to take about 1 hour or so. A trip from the coffee shop to the Napoleonic fort at the end of Brean down is an additional 30 minutes.
